With the total over-saturation of music festivals of late, it can be hard to sort the wheat from the chaff. As more and more festivals get gobbled up by large corporations who all push the same lineup across multiple events and continents it’s easy to feel over it and uninspired.
So when a new festival called ‘Farrago’ pops up from our favorite Europeans ‘Sweat Lodge Agency’ and Southern German promoters ÆTHER, with artistic direction from Manfredi Romano aka the super talented DJ Tennis, we want in! Boasting an amazing lineup that includes our friends from Maeve - Baikal, Mano Le Tough and The Drifter (remember how special his sets were at our last three NYC boat parties?!) as well as other top talent: DJ Tennis, John Talabot, Optimo, Marvin & Guy, Isolée, Honey Dijon, Eric Duncan and more, Farrago Festival is well worth the US $110 (95 euros) plus booking fee (single day passes are also available). Held for the first time in 2017 on August 18 and 19, Farrago features two days of exceptional music with camping included (don’t worry there are hotels in nearby Pfaffenhofen if you’re more of a ‘glamper’ than a ‘camper’).
Set in the ruins of a 13th century castle on a mountain spur in Northern Bavaria, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that combines a truly unique location soundtracked by the best in underground house and techno talent right now. Aside from getting down on the dancefloor, festivalgoers can explore the castle grounds of Schweppermannsburg surrounding fields and forest, enjoy culinary delights from local food vendors, and sit back and relax in the castle courtyard under the shade of a giant oak tree and down an ice cold beverage or two.
If that’s not enough for you, they are limiting tickets to only 700 to ensure a truly intimate experience which means your chances of getting up, close and personal with some of your favorite artists are fairly high. If you were thinking about heading to Europe this summer, this is an excellent reason to bite the bullet and buy that plane ticket! So what are you waiting for? Get your tickets and don’t miss out on being at this debut event catering to discerning dance music lovers who know what’s up.
